Details, or "I don't know."

Ah, the details of getting going.

What are the carry-on baggage limits on Icelandair? I don't know. Last time it was 6 kilos (about 13 pounds, very very little) - so I looked at our tickets. They said E and J class tickets, but the website said stuff like Economy and Economy Comfort and Saga class. Ugh. Took me a while, but I think we're flying the better Economy class and so can take more carry-on than last time. I'll call Icelandair tomorrow when I have some time during lunch.

Where is there Internet access? I don't know. I emailed one B&B in Iceland (Hotel Flatey) and the reply was very insistent that there is no guest access to Internet, there are no maps of the island. There is pretty much nothing there but the hotel and the very small island, easy to get to know without any additional information deemed necessary. I plan on spending a lot of time with my binoculars and my Icelandic birding books!

www.tripadvisor.com let me know that Castello di Montegufoni has some wifi access in the lobby, but not in the rooms. That's okay - I don't really want to spend a lot of time online anyway - and I know my habits. If I have access, it sucks me in. I'll be fine with reviewing my photos for the day, picking one or two, and then posting them the next time I make time to get online.

What is our route from Frankfurt to Montegufoni? I don't know. I'll look after work tomorrow, unless I get derailed by other details. Mom tracked down the maps she used the last time she was in Italy (late 1980s) and I just stare at them, baffled.

What is our route from Montegufoni back to Frankfurt? I don't know. I hope it's different than the way down. I'll figure that out sometime soonish.

What is our route in Iceland? I do know! I have maps for our Iceland route, since we picked up some excellent maps the last time. There's a great Icelandic mapping site where I got some Google-like driving directions to all our nightly destinations in the West Fjords. That site has phone number look-ups, too - useful for tracking down cousins.
