France and the memory of Italy

It's raining this morning in Mulhouse, France. The sun is trying to peek out, and the geraniums in the windowboxes on our balcony have shiny droplets clinging to the petals.

I really want to go back to Tuscany - there is so much to explore. We met some great people, too.

We didn't do most of the usual touristy things - I didn't feel like fighting crowds. We very much enjoyed the little, less-touristy castles and hill towns that we visited.
